## Introducing the Apple Xserve 3U RAID Storage

The new Xserve RAID storage system provides high availability and scalable capacity and performance. We'll be researching the now vintage Apple XServe hardware line to setup a server cluster for local development.

The **Apple Xserve RAID** server comes with **3.5 TB** of storage space. The dual-channel connection provides a maximum throughput rate of up to **400 MB/s**. This server uses redundant hot-swappable drives, which protect your data. Each drive has its own dedicated channel which maximizes its performance. The built-in environmental monitoring system helps maintain the operating temperature of the server.

## Apple Xserve (MB449LL/A) Server
The Apple Xserve (**MB449LL/A**) is a reliable server featuring Xeon Quad Core processor with a clock speed of **2.26 GHz**. This 1-socket model offers seamless operation and availability of the provided services. Plus, the rack-mountable 1U server has a storage capacity o**f 160 GB** and **3072 MB DDR3** SDRAM memory. It supports Apple **MacOS X 10.5**.

This is an introduction to the MACHINEPROOF API that will help you through the first steps of authenticating with the API and managing your cloud servers, domains and storage.

## API Overview
The HTTPS MACHINEPROOF (MP) API consists of operations used to control and manage resources on MACHINEPROOF. All API operations require authentication.
The base URL for all API operations is https://api.machineproof.com/

## Authentication (HTTP Basic)
The (MP) API uses HTTP Basic access authentication. An API user and a password is required to authenticate with the MACHINEPROOF API.

If authentication is successful, the API will return an HTTP 200 OK response along with relevant payload data.

## Request and response data formats
The default encoding for all API resource responses is JavaScript Object Notation JSON. 

The data type definition is given in the HTTP request header. The Accept header defines the data type for requests and the Content-type header defines the data type in responses.

## API Versioning
The API uses versioning to allow backwards incompatible modifications in the service without affecting clients using older versions of the API.

The versioning uses an X.Y.Z scheme. The X.Y part is shown in the URL, e.g. https://api.machineproof.com.com/1.1/.
